Party Updates
The Libertarian party of Minnesota has been active and productive this Summer – in Outreach, in
supporting the petitioning drive for our LPMN-endorsed Candidate for POTUS, and in supporting the
campaigns of our other LPMN-endorsed Candidates on the ballot. This newsletter relates some of the
significant activities and events that the LPMN has been involved in, and discusses some upcoming
events and activities that are planned for the remainder of 2024.
LPMN at 3 County Fairs in July/August 2024, supporting petitioning for the LPMN Candidate for POTUS
LPMN hosted tables/pavilions at three different County Fairs in MN during July and August – the Scott
County Fair in CD2, the Washington County Fair in CD4, and the Beltrami County Fair (Bemidji) in CD8. These
County Fairs were great venues for engaging with the public – telling fair-goers about the LPMN, about our
position on issues and how these offer better solutions than the tired, worn out approaches of the duopoly,
about our LPMN-endorsed Candidates on the ballot, and about the local LPMN Affiliate in their area.

The LPMN also took advantage of these County Fairs, as well as other public venues, to petition to get Chase Oliver and Mike ter Maat, our LPMN-endorsed Candidates for POTUS and VP, on the ballot in MN. The Scott County and Washington County Fairs were scheduled during the period that we were petitioning for POTUS/VP. We collected over 220 signatures for Chase and Mike at the Scott County and Washington County Fairs, helping to complete another successful ballot access petitioning drive.

Rebecca Whiting receives endorsement from Lisa Hanson (Grandmother jailed for defying Covid Lockdown)
The Rebecca Whiting for US Senate campaign hosted a table at the Spring Valley, MN ‘Wednesdays on
Broadway’ monthly outdoor street fair in August. During that event the Whiting campaign was excited to
receive an endorsement from Lisa Hanson, Grandmother and local business owner who was jailed for 90
days for defying the Covid Lockdown in Minnesota. Events like this street fair in Spring Valley provide a great opportunity for our Candidates to engage with the public, sharing our message of Liberty. Check the Whiting4Senate.us website for information about future campaign events.
The Minnesota State Fair – the Great MN Get-Together
The LPMN continued its long-standing tradition of hosting our bright yellow LPMN Booth at the MN State
Fair. Our Fair presence was very successful. We had great conversations with a large number of fair-goers about the LPMN, about our LPMN-endorsed Candidates on the ballot, and about our local LPMN Affiliates. We were excited to have Chase Oliver, our candidate for POTUS, and Rebecca Whiting, our candidate for US Senate from Minnesota both visit and help out at the LPMN Booth during the MN State Fair. In addition to spending time at our LPMN Booth, engaging one-on-one with the public, Chase and Rebecca were both interviewed by several local MN radio stations and podcasts during the Fair. The stations interviewing Chase and/or Rebecca included WCCO 830 AM, KNSI AM 1450 / FM 99.3, KTLK AM 1130, and the ‘Garage Logic’ podcast by the widely followed columnist Joe Soucheray.

There are two months still to go in the campaign season leading up to the vote on Tuesday November 5, 2024. Be watching in LPMN FB and LPMN Discord for information regarding events and other activities to support our LPMN-endorsed candidates. This election is very important for our LPMN Party status (Minor Party / Major Party) in Minnesota.

LPMN Convention Planning for 2025 already underway
The State Fair was not even over before we had already begun planning for the LPMN 2025 Convention. Be looking in LPMN Discord for information regarding the LPMN Convention Committee meeting dates.
