Cassaundra Fryman
A sitting elected mayor in the small village of Plymouth Ohio. Her current term is 2020-2024. In her three years in office, she has decriminalized marijuana, and utilizes a unique mayor’s court system to dismiss various misdemeanors for her residents. She is also the political director for the Libertarian Party of Ohio, as well as a District 5 representative on its central committee. She first became involved in activism through a local non-profit, The Plymouth Improvement Committee which started as a group organizing the village’s bicentennial celebration. It evolved into an organization that has privately funded and repaired the community pool, raising over 40k for that purpose. They also commission artworks, veteran banners, and recently renovated the veteran’s park on the square. She has spent the last year collaborating with like-minded individuals to build the nonprofit Institute for Community Solutions, which focuses on impact data science for nonprofit organizations solving community problems that the government and the market are not addressing.
